“One of the world’s best trekking trails” Modern Maturity (USA)
The trek starts from Besi Sahar and follows along the Marshyangdi River. The trail climbs from 1,000 meters to the Thorung La Pass at 5,416 meters and offers breathtaking scenery along the way. The highest point of the circuit is the Thorung La Pass. Due to the difficulties crossing the pass, the circuit is usually trekked in a counter clockwise direction as this provides a shorter ascent.
The trek crosses through Tibetan villages and along the beautiful Kali Gandaki River Gorge (the world’s deepest gorge). We also include a side excursion as part of our trek to Tilicho Lake (the highest lake in the world). There are several places to experience majestic Himalayan sunrises and sunsets. Trekkers also enjoy taking in the countryside and getting a glimpse of Nepal’s fertile agricultural communities.
If you have the time, this is one that should make your “to-do” list!
