This trek is unique, providing high desert scenery to its trekkers.  The trek is located within the Himalayan rain shadow, thus, gets little rain during the June, July, August monsoon season.

The trek is a rewarding experience for geology enthusiasts. The treeless barren landscape and steep rocky grades provide beautiful panoramic views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, among other peaks.  There are countless Buddhist monasteries to visit and Tibetan villages to wonder through.

A limited number of permits are issued to this region each year and a liaison officer is required for the trek.
